MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

I decided to log into Go Cart and see what it was like. I am able to add items to a shopping cart, but not authorized to purchase. So from this, I gather I can create a shopping cart and then have my SD log in and approve/reject the order. Interested to see how this pans out!

So you can save a shopping cart and send the link to that cart to other people?

Did your 4th of July headers end up being double sided? Mine are blank on the other side but workbench said set summer prior to July 7th then flip to college

@SigningLady Just curious to know if you are coded into the system as a GM Expert or Presentation Expert because the signing specialist at my store is now coded as GM Expert and still has approval to order supplies/fixtures. I wonder if the SD can issue or assign access?

Probably not yet. I expect them to allow access to be assigned to people on an as-needed basis in a few months once they realize that SDs don't want to approve everything.

Well SD, don't tell me we have no hours for signing but then come to me at noon and ask me to take down the Father's Day signing and put up the 4th of July signing. Never mind there were apparently no hours last week either so the pallet is still wrapped in plastic sitting on the dock. If there aren't hours, dump that shit in the compactor. I'm knee did in resetting disposable paper, also late. It's ridiculous that these people want the fat paycheck but not actually manage effectively. I'm tired of hearing .... "We have no signing person and no hours" .... but also .... "We're having a visit! Get the signing up!!!!" You want the money, then your ass can do all the work that has no hours allocated for it. I don't care if you have to stay there 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You're salaried.

Does anyone's store have CSE that goes above the large furniture POG if it's on the back wall of domestics (the one that has the room essentials desks, office chairs, tray tables, etc)? Ours has a big gap in the upper backer paper that's about the right size for one of the backwall CSE frames, but we haven't had anything up there since our remodel.

We have the fabric one put up during remodel.

I am coded as Presentation Expert. I will ask my SD about the possibility of assigning someone. I'm sure he'd like that, but I honestly have more info about how Go Cart works than he does and I know next to nothing.

I'm not sure how it all works yet. I went in real quick to see what I could or could not do and stopped after seeing I could place things in the cart. Had to get back to working my freight. Hoping I'll find some time later this week to explore it more!

Nope. Single-sided headers only.

Your SD is a liar. There ARE hours specifically for non-pog ISM now. The fuck is the SD doing with them if they are not being used for things like FOS!?

That's just the way it is I guess. I even showed the addendum to them. Oh well. Literally, fuck'em. If they want to pull me from my assigned work to do it, I will. But then that's not getting done. We're about two weeks behind on pogs. We had the ap guy complain today that no revisions were getting done in electronics. Shocker!!! And to top it off, they didn't schedule anyone to do new releases this week or to do the entertainment revisions. It makes me wonder what we pay management for if they can't do their jobs.

Are you assuming because you can log in? Or did you actually successfully order something

lol i ordered something! it was auto-approved like normal.

edit: i need to order a few other things tmrw so i can take a pic of what it looks like when the order goes through if you want. i just don't think my access has been taken away yet for whatever reason. idk if it has anything to do with us being a pilot store for go cart or what.

Probably. One of the perks of being the pilot. Enjoy!

Did anyone get Fourth of July 7x11 sign headers that have no locations or no upcoming pogs? We got a bunch of them but we don't know what to do with them.

They've sent them for almost every holiday so far this year. They’re for you to use as you’d like. I use them on end caps or stack outs that aren’t on sale but are related to that holiday.

Had a long day, so this may be a rant more than anything. A few pages back I saw someone post about the whole DBO cubbie/shelving thing. It needs to be 20 feet, pics by Saturday. But, what is the point? If it's my job to rig up their u boats and put current week signing there, why do they need this dedicated 20 feet? Signing comes in a week early. So now I gotta waste my time putting it on a shelf a week early, and then putting it on their u boat the week of? The pics of whatever store did this first do look nice, but I just see it as a waste of already limited space. My store refused to give me any light duty space, so it's all being done in the signing room. O yeah, and no help. Just constant asking if it's done yet.

7x11 Toppers or the blank squared ones?

Dont think toppers have specific locations, its just available as an option if you decide to make 7x11 price point signs for endcaps with July 4th headers or related endcaps.

The blank ones are use to fill 4ft endcaps with 3ft July 4th headers.

Go under July addendum to more info on workbench

Mine always go straight into the trash. No one has ever asked where they are to use them, lol.

20 feet!? The setup sheet they sent with those label strips only shows 8ft and the pics we were sent showed a couple green racks used as cubbies. We are already setup with the 8ft in the fixture room so the only extra thing we did (and pics were not needed as proof for us) was make another space in the bulk racking for the signing pallet and for softlines to have an entire shelf since their signing tends to be consistently bigger.

i'm somehow not losing access at all according to my stl/sd. i ordered actual fixtures today and everything fixture-related now submits for approval to my direct etl and sd before it goes on to actually process the order, but anything signing or office related will continue to be auto-approved whenever i order it.

p interested to see how this pans out!

It is a special project for G390

It is a special project for G390. I was sent an email of directions and pics of a store that already completed it. Its 4 ft for 7×11's, 4ft for generic headers, and then general merch, specialty sales, and A&A each get another 4 feet each. It has to be stripped by colors and each DBO's name. Next week their uboats and green racks half to be rigged up so they can always have their signing with them.

So my due date for the process was due this past Friday 6/14 and it was a total shit show! I was scheduled as DBO in Stationary for a 6hr shift. My ETL LOG was on vacation the week prior but only sent the email instructions to the TL and other ETL. They ended up pulling me aside and basically telling me it was my responsibility and why wasn't it finished? Not to mention they threw in the comment that I couldn't leave for the day until it was all completed! WTF!
They never once sent me an email about the process , the only thing I got sent was a paragraph about how the old signing team member should be utilized for the ISM pallet every week and that I would still be responsible for the overhead signs. They ended up pulling some team members to help me in the fixture room. I finished it but it looks like shit! We never got the plexis for the U boats so they just used sheet protectors! LOL!
Now they are telling me that I have to move the shelves from the fixture room to the signing room ( I am lucky , I have or HAD an actual room to myself! ). So where am I going to find the time to fix and replace all the crazy shit they did so that they could send pics to the Regional! Honestly I am not even mad about it! LOL! I am just trying to hold out for $15hr! That's my motivation at this point!

Anyone actually getting those hours mentioned in the addendum? I'm still having to try to break down the pallet between flexes, much less have any time for the non-pog stuff.

At this point I'd be happy with just 2 hours scheduled a week with no other responsibilities, much less the 10 it talks about in the Addendum.

I can't wait until it's my responsibility to build all the BTS crap. Will probably end up doing that while expected to do 6 other things as well.

It sucks, I had hope that the addendum was acknowledging the fact that someone needs to be scheduled to handle this crap.
