MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Anyone know the number for the blank red strips that go in the aisle directional overheads? Or even what the official name of red ones that hang over the beginning of the aisle and say whats in the aisle is?

I don't know the name but for the ones that say what's in the aisle if you search in GoCart using the type of item you want on the sign (i.e. Strollers) and then filter the company (Excel), it should pop up with your options.

I know I've ordered blank grey ones before, but I think my PML found those numbers for me. Maybe try searching blank aisle markers and then the company name?

Also note, they are pricey.

I would hold off ordering any for babies. there will be more communication coming down the line regarding them and right now everyone was told to wait until that happens, Ours have the entire wrong aisle numbers now, and we were told to leave them in place and don’t order them.

The vendor is Excel LLC. aug 10, 2024 the food blank inserts were SGP8003 and worth 7.88 each.

They are called essentials signs

And also if you need two blank reds, you need to order two since it’s one per.

I know. It’s ridiculous. We have tons of candy and assorted baskets, eggs and grass. I didn’t see the TL over that area but spoke with the pricing queen and she didn’t know if it was going to 70% but knew it was salvage next week.

Anyone notice now we can audit as we set but the devices are SUPER slow while setting now?

There's this fancy fade animation that takes 20 years to complete between steps, scanning an item while on set half the time gets stuck and you have to close the popup to get the next item to appear and you no longer can see in the back counts. Instead it says: '0 on floor, 0 in back 24 on hand' with the 24 in the back lol.

I like that I can audit before I go, but it's quite annoying with how slow it is.
Did a small set yesterday, first one since this change, and wow is this stupid. Click - stare at screen - click - stare some more.

This company better not pull these major special transitions next year. They have been nothing but disasters.

We got 8 pegboards out of the 38 needed (they claimed they delivered all 38) and had to go cut 84” pegboards down to 74” for OTC… like come on
Ours were “delivered” but didn’t show up until they made a second delivery later in the week. We may have gone without had we not sent in a chatbot.

I think the idea of Special Projects will persist, but I can’t imagine they’ll be as large. From what I’ve read, there may be some fresh cooler expansions in Pets and Baby, some changes to Core Beauty, and maybe additional space expansions for OTC/Personal Care in coming years, but what else could they do that would warrant such drastic changes?

Maybe switching 64" to 72" on all tech aisles. Sometimes stuff don't fit with all the security cases or fragrance lockup they keep adding on us off pog. Stores with backwall TV displays needs a revamp.

Don’t worry, the tv wall is gonna be replaced soon. With a new tv wall!

We are a tv valley store, with the removal of Vizio it looks so bad (yet the lit Vizio sign stays) and in an upcoming fun101 transition (I think around time of toys?) they are removing the angled book shelves in kids books (thank goodness), and killing the tv valley to make room for pop gateway amp gifting junk (like how they killed an aisle of books)

When they do that, our tv is wall is going back behind the electronics boat… mind you we are an electronics 3.0 store so right now its printers and the home gear stuff. Gonna be wild

They're also moving all of the adult games (Cards Against Humanity, etc...) into POP/entertainment. I think that's a big part of why electronics is losing space.

The company thinks that Tech (or Gadget, whatever it’s called now) has too much space to begin with. I don’t see them adjusting too much within the space unless it’s allocating it to something else.
