    Archived Target Express Team Member?

That makes sense, but there are also postings for hardlines and softlines jobs individually. I don't see how the Express Team Member position is so different from hardlines. I know they must have specialty sales floor positions because they're hiring for electronics. I'm just not sure why...

    Archived Target Express Team Member?

I'm looking into transferring to a store near where I go to school that hasn't opened yet. My first choice would be to work in consumables, but they're not hiring for that. I noticed that one of positions they're hiring for is an Express Team Member. Does anybody know what this means? My guess...

Archived Issues with the Spread of Information?

It seems like at my store there is a serious problem in getting information out to the whole team. For example, I found out that my ETL-HR, ETL-GE intern, and one GSA are all leaving the store before this week ends, and only because I overheard other people talking about it, and nobody knew...

Archived Does the TM Discount + Redcard apply to cards like Steam Cash or Riot Points etc?

What @KingBear said. It won't work for the Visa prepaid cards though, just the ones that give you credit for another institution. It's still nice to get 5% off eBay, Steam, iTunes and Nintendo (etc.).

    Archived Zoning Advice?

Recently I've worked a couple hardlines shifts and I've also been asked to zone when the front end slows down. I know the basics (cover diamonds, pull two items forward/make the shelf appear full, pick up trash, collect reshop), but I can't seem to zone in a timely manner. My ETL-SF recommended...

Archived The "Vent about all the crazy shit that happened during your shift" thread

I'm honestly shocked at how dirty market is. Last time I zoned it, my fingers were covered in dirt by the time I was done.

Archived Applied Last Friday, A Few Questions

To be honest, I don't think Spot would care about you having a gap in your employment. They regularly hire people with no prior experience. If they liked your application, you should hear back within two weeks, maybe even less depending on how desperate the store is. Expect to cashier at least...

    Archived New Employee...Any advice??

The actual prcoess of cashiering is not hard, but the pressure from Redcard quotas is what makes it rough. You might want to check out this guide: https://www.thebreakroom.org/threads/cashier.72/ but hopefully your store will train you well on your first day.

    Archived free gift cards

True, but to me it doesn't seem like people come back simply because of a giftcard. Usually the people who split transactions say they'll forget about the giftcard if they don't use it now. And the ones that buy a ton of giftcard-getting items also tend to have Redcards, so they'll be coming...

    Archived Ridiculous Red Card "prizes"

Oh, I forgot to mention there was one time where we got balloons. That was very subtle. I wish I could say the same thing, but I usually get asked to be the first to backup if I'm on the floor.

Archived Hello! New soft lines member

Welcome to The Break Room! I also have no experience with either of those areas, but after a few weeks of work, you should feel adjusted.

    Archived New grocery positions soon

My store has put little fliers at the check lanes that say we're hiring people for our grocery team. I'm not sure how much we're expanding though considering that our current staff is just three people.

    Archived Ridiculous Red Card "prizes"

Pushups for a Redcard? lol. I think the best prize we got offered at my store was a raffle with the POSSIBILITY of winning a $5 gift card. I ended up getting fruit snacks instead. The prizes are not worth it if they're the only reason you aim to get Redcards. At this point I only care about them...

Three floors? Geez. How does that work? My store can barely manage one.

    Archived Your Weirdest Scam/Fraud Moment?

Today a guy bought a $400 Visa card and his credit card wasn't automatically declined. I can't tell if the sale was legit or not.

Archived Cashiers and salesfloor TMs, what do you wish you could tell the GSTL/GSA at your store?

My GSAs and GSTLs are pretty good at this. Every cashier is given a break card that also has information for the day. They won't let me forget about my breaks, even if I try to skip them.

Archived Using my 90 days against me???

One of the cart attendants at my store uses an empty lane to store his 3+ gallons of drinks. I guess that's different though.

Archived Using my 90 days against me???

It is pretty stupid. That's why a fair number of cashiers at my store blatantly disregard it and keep water bottles in plain site. Personally, I just choose a lane that's next to the water fountains so I can walk there and back between sales.
