WHAT? Are they TRYING to bleed electronics dry? At this point that is one of two MAJOR attachments that you can get with an eReader. As far as I know cases still don't count, just cards and headphones. My goodness, it's like there is a conspiracy to slowly take down the whole department or something...

Speaking of eReader attachments, I MySupported this issue over a week ago; on why cases, screen protectors, etc didn't count as an accessory. I still haven't heard anything back. If even cases counted, our attachment score for that catagory would jump from red to green overnight. Has anyone else MySupported this and heard anything back? It's taking a long time for them to answer a simple question

I cannot find anything, literally anything about banned gift cards in states. Just different laws about cash reimbursement and expiration dates.

I went down to a local drug store an they had everything there. This is a Target/Distribution problem. Whomever is in charge of our supply chain needs to be locked in a small room with rabid weasels until they come up with solutions.

We went a month without cables on that were on tpc and the day after the sale ended, we had Several boxes come in. In our state Target could legally be held accountable for such crap.

YOU GET SCREEN PROTECTORS!!!

I hate them even more now.

Lol, well, we did. Haven't had any come in in the last several weeks. And we only have a handful of the $50 Amazon giftcards, and none of the $25. But, unlike most here, we have no shortage of cases. And we attach them like crazy. Which is why this AAR is driving me crazy! >_<

Well, it's it clear. Target does not care about the guest experience either way...

Is there a way to get a list of items considered accessories? My team lead swears up and down cases and protectors count since they're listed as being for the kindle, how can I show her that they aren't counting or at least not yet? Sorry if I missed an answer on this already, thanks!

I believe it was in a message board months ago but i just do what the etls and tl tell me. Why we cant sell em I have no clue but honestly I care not

Yes, a very comprehensive list is available. Check the common questions in mysupport.

np, from what I understand it goes by department and then by class so a game console is a major item so technically any game in the 207 department should count as long as it falls in with the right class. ie. xbox + xbox 2 software.

It is a flawed system, its like selling a tv and if you sell a surge protector in the right class it counts but if you go over to home improvement and pick out a surge protector it doesnt count. Another flaw is why do regular batteries not count? How many devices use AA's?

On another subject I really wish they would institute my suggestion to add a metric to see individual TMs attachment rates. Being able to see each TMs strengths and weaknesses per category would make it so much easier for training. ie. TM John is the best at attachments with TVs so he is captain for TV training. I was told it was going to be added but two years later all we got was the ability to see how many service plans the front registers rang up. /sigh

I'm not sure about the accuracy of some of the items on this list. It lists stranges things such as MP3 player items as countable accessories for GPS! I mysupported it many months ago and all that they said was that they didn't know, but that they would send it up to their corporate partners. But like I said, this was MANY months ago.

I agree that TM-specific metrics would go a long long way towards finding strengths and weakness so like you said we would know which tm's excel in one area and could use some suggestions or training in another. It would also be the most accurate way to find out where we are at a moment's notice for each tm's personal AAR.

We "carry" screen protectors, but being in stock is another story!

As for the AAR list, it has been already posted in this thread how to get to it, I will bring it up again. Go into Store Reports where you look at the AAR score and in that section there should be a little "i" and when you click on that there is a separate window that pops up that explains AAR in depth as well as a comprehensive list of what counts towards it.

Regular batteries count as camera attachments I believe.

I soooo wish they would implement this! PLEASE? MAYBE... THIS YEAR? I mean, they do it already for REDCARD conversion, so it's not like it's hard to do or anything.

The list is available on Workbench and it is actually very helpful and breaks it down easily. There are actually some pretty dumb things that count for attachments. For instance did you know that eReader cases or headphones count as attachments for GPS units? My ETL & I initially laughed at this, but think of it as an additional way to boost AAR & basket size. Close sales by asking if there was anything else in the electronics department they were interested in. I would definitely use this time with all of the markdowns occurring to get people to impulse-buy. "Hey did you see these Skullcandy headphones for 50% off? They sound great!" At my store that is a new approach we have been taking.

Also, I know this does not apply to AAR numbers but how is everybody doing with their Electronics Score/Service in Electronics is fast score? We have been all over the place lately. Our service is fast score was 3.33 this week, 3.50 last week, too inconsistent for my taste.

For the last three weeks, our "Service in Electronics is fast" score has been in the toilet, and it's all because of our instocks score! We have a lousy instocks score lately because we've had NOTHING to sell! Guests wants a TV but we can't even offer them alternatives because in the back room we just have two shelves of TV's and that's it! Guest wants a camera but we don't have what they need.

I have noticed that some are talking about how they wish there was a metric for individual TM's attachment rate to recognize individuals strengths and weaknesses, i wish this existed too and I am sure it will someday but you or your leaders can do this yourselves. Like I posted before you can use the AAR formula. You have to create a grid that your team members fill out each shift, a grid where the TM's track all the cores they sale during there shift and if they sell attachments and s/Rp's with the core they need to tally those as well, each core item should have there own column so that it is organized and you can see where their strengths and weaknesses lie. By the TM's individual tally marks you can calculate their individual AAR whenever you choose; at the end of the week, end of a shift, in the middle of the shift...

I tried this a couple years ago when i first became the elec. specialist. the problem was the poor performing team members never marked them down, team members exaggerated, tls didnt even bother marking things down and the etls just didnt care. I got so frustrated staying on top of people marking em down I blew up on one team member and I got coached so I threw the sheet away. I am sure now that it is a company focus it would work but none of my ideas were appreciated back then so now I just sit back and watch the train wreck at my store.

I debate sharing my ideas on here reading the attachments threads but I wouldnt doubt some people would pass em off as their own ideas at their store. Selfish I know but the thought of some TL getting accolades and possibly a promotion from my work burns me up.

Yeah if you do not have support it will not ever work, as far as TM though ur lead should be able to hold them accountable individually. If they do not mark them or if they mark to many and not be honest all of this can simple be checked through POS. What they sell can be pulled up and used to audit what they tallied. It is all time consuming and requires support but it is a culture change and that takes time.... If your leadership team is not on board then no one will have much success.

No. Only items from electronics. And to count the department number of the accessory has to match the core items department number.
