i have a question. if a person is on corrective action and let say they got a simple coaching (for example backstocking and the wrong place). will that affect the corrective action where it gets you one step closer to getting fire? or is a coaching just coaching

Nothing that happens from a coaching to a sharp talking to is to be ignored when you are on a corrective action.
If it has nothing to do with why you are on the CA; for instance if the CA is for attendance and the coaching is for backstocking technically there shouldn't be an issue but it depends on if the ETLs like you or not.
If you are thought of as a good worker and worth having around they will play by the rules.
Otherwise they will come up with a way to tie it all together and you will be gone, gone, gone.

Just do the absolute best job you can.
Don't let them make you crazy and watch your step.

If you feel you are not being treated fairly, definitely make management aware of this (they will be more likely to stick to the official corporate policy, which is that non related coaching does not affect CA's given for totally different reasons.) You'll want to ask these type of questions directly to your TL or to your HR (depending on who you feel most comfortable with) Any time you are on CA, you want to make sure you make a record of EVERY conversation you have with ANY member of management, because they will try to use ANY thing they can against you if you want to get rid of you. Also, make sure you are able to demonstrate your performance is in line with your coworkers. It's their burden of proof to prove you are NOT performing similarly to your coworkers. Remember, use your TL, your ETL, your STL, your ETL HR, and the Employee Relations Integrity Hotline, and the TMSC as resources to navigate these types of situations.
