Archived Electronics Brand Ambassador?!?!

Hey everyone, I'm new here. Just wondering if any other markets have been rolling out "brand ambassadors" in their stores? Currently at our location, we have "brand ambassadors" in cosmetics and electronics. Their main responsibilities are to help guests and make their areas look brand. Also, what do you guys think of all this? Will it help/hurt? Thanks!

Yeah every cosmetics and electronics hire from now on is supposed to be an expert. There is a thread about this on page 2 or 3.

It can only help. These areas are a great opportunity to grow sales. The problem is we are not attracting top talent for these positions from what i have seen. People who are real electronics or beauty experts can make so much more money at other companies.

It has helped our Electronics brand for sure. Before E2E, we use to have an Electronics TM who would regularly be in Toys/Electronics as well since we are low volume but he wasn't focused enough to do both and hurt the brand. Now we have a dedicated stocker and opener in Electronics and that unfocused person is no longer involved in the Electronics process and in fact no longer in the company. But since we had a dedicated person, it has helped our brand

To put it nicely, I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't a pay raise. If I wanted to, I could go to any electronics retailer like Best Buy, and at least make commission for slangin their extended warranties... Oooo Target!

In the "Modernization" tab on WB under electronics modernization there's a document that details that all Electronics TMs hired from here on should be specialists in what we sell, have experience in the electronics industry, and be able to upsell. The best part? The Electronics TM position is now N03 moving forward. Only the ones that are already in role get to keep N07.

It's under the stores modernization electronics guide. I think it's under hiring and staffing where it says it's now a N03 position but up to 50 cents can be given due to experience.

It think its simply putting a pretty spin on a shitty situation. Everyone in the store should be a brand ambassador. Give us the damn hours and you will see great service. I personally think this Brand ambassador bullshit needs to stop. Last weekend we had 4 people in electronics, 2 in cosmetics and TWO for the REST OF THE STORE! The ambassadors could not leave their areas. Then on Monday morning huddle the focus was on how GREAT those 2 areas looked. The 2 team members who busted their asses with pulls, zone, and back ups got SHIT RECOGNITION. Give me a break. There were 15 carts of reshop for hardlines, 7 Zbars for softness. But cosmetics was tidy. Right now there is a very real hatred for those 2 areas and the golden way they are being treated.

It appears they pulled the details of what I spoke of off the Electronics Modernization PDF and hid it in HR Zone instead.
