MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Hi everyone

I got a question about signing on the price audit tool.

Whose suppose to do that? Is it signing ISM or signing promotional?

Or signing ism and signing promotional is the same person?

thanks

Greetings and salutations.
Welcome to The Break Room.

They are different things, they can be different people but are sometimes the same.
It depends on the store.
My guess is that most of the folks in this thread don't do the price audit tool but I could be wrong.

thank you.

how about sales planner signings and softlines signs. Do you guys give it to the team lead or signing person is in charge of putting it up?

ahh. Because from the start the old singing person just give the signs to the TL of the department and I just change the billboards and towers signing.

What do you guys usually do if the adjacency calendar schedule for a 50+ hours work load and we are only allowed a 40hrs/week ?

Do you guys get it the following week? or getting a backup signing person to help?

Backup signing person! hahahahahahah!

50 hrs in a 40 hr wk = what part of get-er-done don't you understand?

Welcome to Target.

hahahha.

I'm by myself doing it sometimes I just do it the following week.

Do you guys get downtime? sometimes Adjacency calendar call for a 40hrs week but sometimes by Wednesday I'm already just chilling.

Time to either get a head start on your next project or clean the fixture room (again).

Im just wondering why do we need to clean the fixture room. I barely get anything from that room. and non of the TL wants to clean the room and they are the one whose messing it up all the time. they don't know how to put the shelf back where they got it and the fixtures that they used they just left it in the cart.

I know it's in the signing core role.

and anyone doing the price audit in the pda for signing ism?

In my case they jammed all my signing in the back of the fixture room so it did make sense.
And there are a lot of things that you do need out of there in the long run.
You are right that the ETLs and TLs (and sometime the damned plano team if they aren't properly trained) are often the worst offenders.
If you go back over this thread you'll find a lot of great suggestions on how to deal with that.
Screaming and whining being on the top of the list.

In my store signing area and fixture room are on the different sides.

we kicked signing out of our fixture room and took over an abandoned office. added shelving for the sales floor to sort the crap. lazy folks would leave headers and toppers laying all around the fixture room floor. is it practical having the signing away from the signing pc? NO. but they refused to clean up and we gave them several chances. now I don't have to see any of the garbage, and our fixture room is 100 times cleaner.

I only do ISM, never promotional. The promotional people have never sorted in our fixture room. For one thing, too much distraction. They work in an office space. They have a green cart with open file bins with folders of each aisle. Very neat, never messy.

Does anyone have the signing team members core roles from workbench? I'm currently our signing specialist, and am updating my resume, but i'm having trouble verbalizing all the things we do!!!

you would be better off writing down all the things that you do. the core roles are very skimpy, and especially after the specialist position was eliminated they are fairly generic since different stores will use the position in different ways.

Finished all the Christmas signing today with help. That equates to about 16 hours to prebuild all the signing. This doesn't include the additional time it will take to install on the salesfloor, which is happening for us, next Wednesday.

thanks for the heads-up. i hope to start on mine by friday. does it take up a lot of space to store? i'm worried about building myself out of house and home

The overheads are completely round and can't be folded once built, so yes, they take up a Lot of space. We will be having 4 tables, so that space, and about the size of a table in roll wrap bins.
