MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

I didn't check if there was anything under Transition Communication, but we definitely didn't get any strips except for the revision to the Vivitar section.

I know there wasn't anything in Transition Communication because I check that regularly. Unless something posted today as I didn't log into WorkBench. Nothing in the Stores Weekly email either. We did get strips for the pogs we did set in there this week because my team did not inform me of any missing ones.

Anyone given any thought to what might eventually happen to signing tm's once modernization fully hits the fan?

I was told Plano is likely not going away so signing wouldn't be either. I realize until official communication is actually rolled out I can't take that as gospel but even if this info is wrong I am not worried about my position; there may be a title change for me but my store will continue to let me do "my thing" because, honestly, they know how badly things will go if they don't. And I've taken on the added responsibility of running plano because the hardlines TL has too much on her plate already. Even when we redid beauty, that TL partnered with me for the transition planning. I've got the experience and they are smartly not willing to let that go to waste.

Plano/Signing going away has been dangled in front me for over a year now. I'll believe it when I see it.

It becomes a mess. We've been modernization since early last year. At the time we still had our veteran signing member who kept doing signing between working pogs, pricing or where ever was needed. Team member left during the 4th quarter. We never did have anyone else trained. It's a mess on who will break it down or hang signs now. Signing is such a detail job. It's a mess.

Anyone else get those weird-ass, long, backwards labels for the One Spot transition instead of actual label strips?
They are cheese pusher labels... which don't come in unit price even if you need them in your state. 🤦‍♀️ and yeah we got them. Lol.

Vm is hanging her own lights. I don't know how because she's not trained and had better keep her hands off my wires without me there.

For those of you seasoned enough to know what I'm talking about, is there any way to get ahold of any Gray Instocks Dots nowadays? I have an idea to help market, but I was hoping there's still a way to get them.

I don't think they are in SAP last we checked. Red/yellow/green pack is for planorama though. Also check office depot for similar? I had a wad stashed in my desk, but had to give them all up for the greater good🤬

Also check Grainger. I bought my PTL an electric stapler, myself a pink box cutter, and PMT a few things off Grainger/

We got these blue circular adhseive signs that say "keep lane clear" so he can say he did something to keep the fire tunnel clear, and a "no smoking" sign because the backroom TL likes to vape in the backroom men's restroom.

So you didn't have a PPTL or your PPTL has already been moved to the salesfloor?

Technically, neither. The PTL is also the hardlines TL. And she's also helping run the truck with the logistics TL. And covering his hardlines area because he hasn't been moved into yet. She's already stretched pretty thin and I can easily run Plano and do signing since they overlap so much.

I found an interesting spreadsheet on Workbench while trying to identify a fixture. There is a Fixture Keep spreadsheet dated April of 2018. Does anyone know just how accurate that is and if I can use it as a guide for The Great Purge of 2019?
Typically used for new store openings. It’s fixture keep list post planorama so I would say it’s pretty accurate. It’s just stuff every store should always have and won’t be sent for new sets unless you need a lot of them

I finished everything but the unset salesplanner headers, stackflat overheads and fact tags for seasonal.

I'm looking forward to burning four days looking for the missing furniture as plano pushes the seasonal and easter pallets.

We set patio in January but I'm still kinda piss that one of our tm's sold the large cement firebowl thats on display. Doesnt seem like Target will be sending another one so now theres gonna be a big empty spot.

Open up a different fire bowl. I had to improvise a lot last year as things sold early and that's what I started doing to boost the sales of what I had lots of.

I don't understand why everyone is so intent on selling the displays. It's online only and we're nice enough to have a display of it in-store so there aren't 50 million returns from Karens who "thought it would be different" when they bought online. I understand guests having a hard time processing this, since a lot of them have a hard time not constantly being distracted by shiny objects, but why is it so hard for TMs to understand? Our STL is actually considering damaging the displays so that guests won't try to buy them/TMs won't sell them without asking (and being told NO).

Train that tm, not to sell displays. Use the save the sale or my checkout. Also, if the on hand count was 2 units. Please go look for the item in backroom. It could be on a pallet near the bay doors waiting to be backstock.

Also, any of you signing TM get consistent 40hrs?

I get 40 but not signing. A usual week is 16 signing, 24 pog. But what happens is that I do pog first, signing second. Can't sell stuff that isn't on the floor no matter the signing. I just tell my boss when I need to work on signing. She was an actual signing SPECIALIST about 15 years ago, so she knows what's up.
