MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

The directions for the overhead ceiling grid suck. It doesn't angle it for you so you have to play around with it until its about right. Spacing is off as well.

There's also an error in the pin wheel instruction. It shows to install the wheel clockwise but when you see the page where it showing wire length its counter clockwise, so you have to swap the left and right wires on the pin.

What'll happen is ..... eventually, someone will notice it's not up and panic. Then they'll rush me to do it. Probably while I'm the middle of setting a pog. It'll be "Do it as fast as you can since we don't have hours for it." Well you what, fuck that shit. You want to manage and make the bucks, then manage. Dumb asses.

It's the most frustrating thing ever to watch the position you take such pride in go to hell, but just try to hang in there. The same thing happened to me back in February/March/April when our new ETL was adamant about me not doing signing. Pallets started to build up in the steel. I would sneak away on days this ETL was off to break them down. (They break down pretty quickly when most of it goes straight into the baler!) I was told to only push truck and set transitional pogs. It just took one REALLY BAD visit from district leaders for said ETL to get CHEWED out because the planet and rocket ship signing still wasn't hung in softlines, amplified gifting had no signage whatsoever, softlines CSE's all still needed to be changed, and new appliance displays were all sitting under the line.

Now when I get called over the walkie I'm addressed as "signing specialist" :)

how did you guys hang the pinwheel? idk if i just built it incorrectly but every way i tried to hang it it looked super fucked up.

Mine hung weird too. I added another wire to the blue part. So white, red, and blue at the top all have wires hanging from them. Looked much better after adding it!

I'm a 14' ceiling so white and blue I used a 24" and a 12" wire and then red I used an 18" and a 12" wire.

4hr 20min if you add them all up but direction pack. Non-pog guide gives 30min, 1hr for the week in put up time total, no take down. I mysupported the discrepancy. That freaking flamingo... they should have made blow up floats and sold them as sun squad.

That would have been so much easier!

My PPTL said this entire thing shouldve been blowup stuff lol

Maybe taking over Stationary... Good idea?
I was just told to switch from paper to stationary earlier this week. There are so many repacks and it takes forever sorting through them since I'm still getting used to what goes where. I think we had 15 repacks today for stationary. I've found so much product out of place, I have a feeling it was from the previous TM but it could have also been guests.

But if you take stationary just be ready for repacks and constantly having to move for guests.

I personally hate stationary. Having to push and backstock little items and folders... also back to school is soon so you may be asked to fill both dept. before you backstock.
That is the thing I know I'm going to dreaaaad, back to school is painful and if they dont send stuff back that needs to go, it is even worst LOL XD
We cant even walk down our stationary backroom Aisle, so I'm assuming Id have to fix the backroom area first, to even get somewhere. How long have you been doing Stationary, are you a DBO and any pointers to make the hell less hot? LOL XD

With repacks, how often do you actually get to zone and fix problems?? o_O
I know you just started as well, but any pointers for a good routine?

lol my store still doesnt have them up and its been like what 2 months since they arrived? Three untouched signing pallets in receiving atm too.
Still rocking the easter fos as well...

If Target isn't going to support the signing with hours, just don't send signing. Problem solved. Damn, I don't even have a precious degree in giving blowjobs, uh, I mean business management. Even I can see that not having hours to set signing and assuming someone will do it is dumb. That's like me hoping someone will do the dishes when I live alone.

At this point only time will tell. I'm on the unload crew as well so the first 1-3 hours of my shift is spent on the line. Just today we were taught how to EXF (I thankfully knew before today thanks to this site). Next thing the TL is going to teaxy will be how to audit (though I also know this thanks to everyone on here). When we get the next truck our routine is supposed to be the unload, do an EXF to create a batch, push product from the truck, then back stock. Our shifts are supposed to get longer soon which is when we will start auditing, doing our own autos, and zoning. I appreciate our leadership implementing changes slowly, but I just want to do my entire area myself already so I don't need to worry about others messing up my work. Also, when I left today there was still another U boat including about 10 repacks. I'm going in tomorrow to finish up. 4 hour shifts is not long enough if I'm also unloading.

I'm seriously debating only answering to Someone on the walkie now instead of SigningLady.

I don't get why corporate thinks it will just "get done".

Only reason it "gets done" at my store is because my STL isn't a fucking idiot and gives hours.

Lucky you. My stl and etl's actually are idiots. One of them saw I was scheduled Saturday for GM2 to push at 8am and asked me to come in early to hang the whale. She still hasn't changed the schedule. So guess who's strolling in at 8am? This girl, that's who. I might throw her a bone and mention it tomorrow, but why should I? It's not like she actually cares if I live or die.

That whale is going to take a whopping five minutes or less to hang. I plan on using my four hour shift that day to hang the whale and then work on late pogs/revisions. I was really only asked to come in that day because the Style TL and VM have both never done an LTO launch & are both freaking out. So they convinced the STL to ask me to join them. Damn right I'll take those hours! (And then use them as I please since I'm not coming in at 4am just to hang a silly whale.)

Don't throw her a bone, she certainly won't be doing you any favors. I'm sure the whale sign comes with instructions any idiot *should* be able to figure out, lol.
