MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

So much Easter Candy !! Were you allowed to donate ?
We used to be told NO food on salvage pallets - donate. Now we’re told do NOT donate.
What’s left ?
Fill the compacter?
So MUCH waste !

We just put ours with the regular salvage. Been doing it for years. We do separate the food salvage from the non-food at least, separate pallets for each.

Does anyone have the a number for the table cover ISM that was sent early for the summer set? Ours mysteriously vanished out of the signing storage area.

Hmmm. We have 3 pallets of signing still wrapped in Saran. If we ever rip them open, and it is in there, I will certainly post. Just can’t be certain WHEN we will have time !!

our problem is since the beginning of the year we leave 2-6 pogs unset, the next week there are 4-12 pogs unset, the next week 8-24......I think we are now a FULL week BEHIND !!!! Not being 100% each week really builds up to out of hand FAST.

Sigh. We set as planned and it remains empty. No time to make decisions on what to put there other than what was intended. Now that the tie week is over I may re-set any I can early with the 5/11 ones IF we have the merch in the store. Going to note the ready % Monday when I pre-tie. Once again.....depends on the schedule: hours given and tm’s used - not all tm’s are created EQUAL.

Friggin Pepperidge Farm vendor !!
I set his pogs to plan and he takes OVER a tower, a cart, X9, and the bullseye candy baskets !! I feel like throwing his product at him for messing up my pogs !! I don’t like to WASTE time moving his product out if my way!

We are 13 pogs behind from last week because we had to set the 5/3 frozen pogs early last week. And we will set those 13 pogs first next week before setting anything current. Mini we set all but one pog (fake tied and set capacities to zero), flexed in a pallet of NOP coolers and a bunch of our backstock from the chem reset.

Smart.
Speaking of coolers....We got salvage coolers off the truck....weird?
Would you Mysupport or give it time?

Also NONE of the St. Patrick Day Merch went Salvage!
Both Bullseye and stationary.
STILL scans clearance When in pricing mode!

Feeling like SO MANY “ISSUES” lately making my job tasks so much more complicated!

I defected out our st pats clearance. Got tired of looking at it in a cart. Our bullseye went salvage last Wednesday. I’d my support that it’s still clearance since other stores went salvage.

If they came up as a salvage price straight off the truck, I'd just send them off with the salvage pallets. Coolers for mini have already been set so they won't go in there. Ours were only NOP.

We also still have our bullseye St. Patty's Day items. They did not go salvage with the last round of bullseye salvage. I don't have the time to defect them, the TL of that area will have to figure it on her own. Our stationary St. Patty's Day stuff did go salvage though.

Our DTL decided that each TL should be "over" their own transitions, and the TL that was over presentation just does nothing now, for some reason.
DTL said the same for my district>store. In talking to TL over plano, we figured that it wouldn't happen and they'd go back to asking him to do it. Always interesting to see what they come up with that never works out.

There was a time when revisions actually mattered. Now, just tie them off. It's been interesting working sfs and looking for pegged product that's not there. No peg for it. No label.

Every time I see it done wrong, I just picture how often I got yelled at when I was on plano and made the tiniest mistake. Now it's fine if people set entire aisles backwards or fake tie revisions because it's "faster".

Unfortunately with current payroll, all the untrained seasonal hires, too much going on, too many different people doing pogs everywhere instead of the few experts Doing them all: “good enough“ has replaced “done right”.

Destroying the unsold product allows Target to claim larger Federal corporate tax deductions than donating the unsold products to charity. They have to provide proof the products were actually destroyed. A tax specialist might know more details, but for many decades companies have taken advantage of tax laws regarding destroyed product inventory. By destroying unsold inventory, including "obsolete" inventories of replacement/repair parts, companies can save a lot on taxes and sometimes carry over the financial losses over a period of years. Sadly, the tax benefits often outweigh the money the company could get by selling off those unsold or "obsolete" items to a liquidator.

Oh, this was even before all the awful seasonal hires. Any sort of accountability went out the window when the task teams did.

Saw an endcap last night where the price point digits were hanging off. Huh. Oh, they have the wrong side of Priced Right Daily (multiple PP instead of single) showing so they moved the digits off so you can read the words. Upon further inspection, noticed the entire endcap header fixture was placed several notches too low. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Then I walked away, not fixing any of it because I was not setting that endcap.

I saw an endcap recently that had the small sidecap digits stuffed in a 7x11 plexi attached to the basedeck.
