I skimmed through an email today. didnt really read the salesfloor part but for backroom we have to backstock by brand and keep all shoes together. and supposedly they will only be sending us shoes that sell as opposed to sending us a million shoes just to have them.

Yep. We've been doing it for more than a year. Say good-bye to ANY research. Say hello to price change hell. Guest service? Bwahahahahahaha! On the plus side, there aren't zillions of shoes in the backroom and nobody cares about zoning.

I've heard of it but haven't really gotten any details or confirmed we're actually doing it. All I know is it's going to make it even more impossible to find shoes for SFS (currently around 20-40 pairs every day).

It was hell when we did this. My old DTL told me we were no longer allowed to backstock shoes(He walked that aisle on multiple visits just to make sure), and the brand suffered immensely. Sales were down, service scores were down and markdowns increased. It took forever to zone and guests were frustrated that they couldn't find their size. They sent me entire flats of flats(oh how I loathe Ona), and they were flexed to several endcaps, took over my accessories wall, but I put them out. The next visit, my DTL told me that he didn't think it made sense to run shoes like that and gave me 3 days to get it back to 100% brand. FML.

Those of you who flex out all your shoes, what do you do with the shoe aisle(s) in your backroom? Do you just have the aisle(s) sit empty or do you STO different fillgroups there?

Empty and shoes will end up there, cause you will have to much to put out in any nice fashion. So some will be back there.

The shoe specialist position absolutely needs to come back and stay for good.

We keep hiring "Shoe Brand" TMs and they quit as fast as we hire them. Cause they actually get to work shoes so it is always a disaster. And disaster is kind.

The way Target (does not) deal with shoes is insane. Worst area of the store. It's embarrassing

PREACH! We did the no labels flex all thing for a while and shoes looked HORRIBLE! Then we went back to leaving the labels up & shoes still looks horrible. The only way you can find something for a guest is if it's backstocked. If it's on the salesfloor it would be easier to find 2/3 needles in a haystack than to find a pair of shoes in the size & color a guest is looking for.

My store actually has a shoe brand team member, she interviewed for the position and got the 50 cent raise. They just rarely ever schedule her to actually DO her job (and if they DO schedule here the LOD will most of the time have them do reshop).

Sorry I had a brain fart and forgot the most important part of my comment. NOT. Exactly they never let them work in shoes so its always a disaster so it gets called out and the ETL throws them under the bus so they get pissed and quit. Or the expectations are so outrageous that anything they do is futile. You wouldn't mind if you had support or understanding but getting neither and shit on to boot.. Yeah they quit and I don't blame them one bit.

Anyone care to explain how this new system is supposed to work? There was something on workbench with the same title as this thread but I haven't had a chance to read it and it was a few months old.

But at one point we had some control. Now? Not so much and sales are down, clothing up, shoes down.

We did. I have been pushing shoes as a flow tm for almost 5 yrs. I use to, shocking, love pushing shoes. I always push to the piece. Sales floor, the past year, at my store, was told no backstock for shoes. I was never told that and have and continue to backstock. It is a fucked up pig sty because most people that push pulls or reshop have no fucking idea where anything goes. Last week we had a visit and boxes were spread out and made to look pretty. Was it where it was suppose to be? Hell no. The biggest issue is it rarely gets zoned. That is not my fault or sales floors fault. I blame my store leader. Amen

"Looking pretty" is how our store is. I used to be so proud of my store. Not so much anymore.... it looks good until you actually try to find something. The amount of overstock that I pull off of the shelves and the amount of reshop that I have to do while scanning instocks at the same time is outrageous! I wish they could look at the big picture and see how much revenue is lost each day simply because items are in the wrong place with the wrong price, not on the floor at all or ever, payroll lost because inventory has to be touched by tm's 5-6 times a day instead of 1-2.... I just shake my head.
