Cosmetics is hard. Especially if the signing doesn't come in on time. But this entertainment reset is gonna suck with all the moves.

How is everyone's Grocery Transition going?

we finished ours. the soup fixture changes were silly. its going to hurt us during the thanksgiving push not having the cream of whatevers in fixtures. everything else was fine. i like the new backer paper and signing for the hba stuff. shoes was a breeze, just lots of transition to push.

we were told our district isnt allowing overnights anymore. i think my stl lied. our neighboring store just went overnight for toys.
im thinking 4 people, 486 hours of adjacency, 144 pogs that week for mmb.... yeah this is gonna suck coming in a 4am. so my etl sends me an email... he wants to add a sf tm to our team that week. im thinking the girl who is "over" mmb that usually sets street date. no. we're getting a girl who doesnt know crap so she can "learn". im gonna try to veto that. not that im too lazy, just, with limited payroll and fixturing changes we're gonna be pushing as it is. i dont have time to slow down and teach someone who has no salesfloor experience. thats too much of a learning curve.

Haven't heard anything from our district about no overnights, that's how we're doing Grocery this week. And MMB... and yes we're borrowing our ex-MMB specialist and current MMB spec to get through this. Hopefully it's pretty painless.

Having them not send us the soup fixture sucked and the surprise TV wall revision that required two people for four hours sucked even more.
Not looking forward to the entertainment or makeup changes coming up.

Tonight marked the last night of grocery, tomorrow is the last overnight shift (we're regularly 4am) and we'll do cosmetics then. Well, they will. I'm on vacation :D

Oh, so question. How come sometimes when you tie a POG in SFLM, the PDA will set up a label batch, and other times it doesn't? When do you print the labels that the PDA creates when you tie the POG as opposed to using the Sign and Label PC to locate the POG number and printing all the labels/the price accuracy labels there?

I'm just a little confused as to which way is more efficient, especially considering some POGS use strips and some don't. And when you print the pog using the computer, you always have to tie it first anyway, correct?

You too? We also needed an additional fixture. When the boss mysupported it, they just told him to order it on TIPP but it is going to take forever.

We have something like 6 more planos and all the revs (except for ele) to do tonight. it is going to SUCK.

and on top of it, two weeks out where we have hosiery and that massive entertainment reset? well, they also want us to set mini seasonal early. hell to the no, that is not going to happen. we can do hosiery or mini, but not both, and with entertainment and the revs it is still going to be a major push to get it all done

If the planogram includes label strips it will ask you to print a label batch. This will print out the labels for the pegs, price accuracy, and the POG header. If the planogram doesn't have strips, for example just pegs, then you will need to print them out manually from the Sign and Label PC.

When there are label strips I print out the label batch created, this way I only get the pegs, price accuracy and the POG header. I don't need all the labels printed out if I have strips. You do not have to tie in the planogram to print labels manually from the PC but they will print in standard.

we print our pa labels from the pc before our stuff is tied so we dont have to go back there to print them after. just hit f4 to bypass the little screen saying it has to be tied.

we did the cosmetics and market revisions for next week today. tomorrow were gonna try to finish them all up so ill have everyone focused on cosmetics starting monday. hope we can get them all done!

So it doesn't matter if they print in standard? The schematic doesn't change at all?

The schematic does indeed sometimes change when it is tied reverse.

If you are stocking an aisle and the items are showing up 1 space off when scanned with the PDA, the most likely cause is that it was tied standard when it should have been tied reverse.

At my store we normally tie the POGs the day before so that pulls can be done in the afternoon, and then everyone manually prints labels off the PC the next morning. We never use batch labels.

I believe if the planogram is pre-tied in reverse, the PA labels will print in reverse before the aisle is tied, but someone should probably check me on this.

So just a note on the upcoming entertainment overhaul...

Music streets on Monday August 29. Just thought everyone should keep that in mind as you plan your workload for the week.

How did you guys attach the display Sunbeam mixers to the shelf of the Fall Baking set? I was watching my SBS and signing get frustrated with it. Finally the SBS drilled holes in the shelf and they tied them with cheap plastic ties.

I didn't fasten them down at all - I left them just like all the small appliance displays, just sitting on the shelf with the cord tucked behind.

Even if pre-tied in reverse, they will print out standard until the aisle is physically tied as reverse. At least in my store...

how's cosmetics going for everyone?

seems like a pretty easy set.

also, since street date is monday, how is everyone dealing with it (those that aren't going overnight for mmb)?

We have two more pogs to do in cosmetics, we would have done it today but my TL decided we were going to set the seasonal wall of shoes (slippers) today and remerch all the clearance.

Flexing it into the endcap until we get there. We are starting on the books side of the department and working toward music, so we probably won't get to it until Tuesday or Wednesday. Actually, I may be setting music by myself since no one else understands how to set a browser no matter how much I explain it to them. Why is it so hard to realize that the schematic is meaningless on a browser pog (except for the top two shelves starting next week)?

I can't even find the motivation (or the space) to break apart the giant pallet of new entertainment fixtures we got yesterday lol.
