Is there a list of test stores? I didn't hear anything about it at my store today, guess we'll see over the weekend.

gotta say that out of all the title changes, replacing the cashier title with "Engagement Advocate" is probably the most Orwellian corporate term I've ever seen. On one hand it's funny but at the same time irritating. It manages to be both pretentious and incoherent. Stellar job.

Apropos of nothing, one of the vidyagames I play has randomly generated weapons that have different names and prefixes depending on manufacturer, etc. One of them has a gimmick of naming their weapons with corporate buzzwords, so you can find a gun called "Customer Focused Thinking" and "Restructuring Vision" and "Redundant Outlay" and so on. Every time I read one of these internal memos loaded down with corp-speak it reminds of this shit and it cracks me up.

I mean, might as well go all-out and start using "triplicate void generator" for 3-hole punch and "alphanumeric manual input interface" for keyboard. Own your memery.

You’re a hero, you’ve earned TBR gold

I don’t know my group or district number since transferring and it changed last year sometime. Woops. Guess I should look tomorrow!

^ me either. I have a varicose vein that looks like 4006. Waiting for the Count to one million thread...

Looks like my former district is in this pilot. Hope it works out for them. They are an overnight store so I’m wondering if they will be switching to 4am. Anyone know what that does to stores who run pog overnight? I have a few friends that are still there.

My store is part of the pilot. All of the cashiers have HALF of the hours that they have the the prior 2 weeks. I know the higher hours are part of the Easter sales build up. However, it's still less than the weeks prior to the Easter sales push.

So I have serious concerns about how much engaging and advocating can happen with very little staff.

And this is the obstacle nobody is willing to identify. There are tons of leaders who will be very "cheerleader" about all these fancy new titles, org chart changes, and talk about how we will have time to sell to our guests (such a vague and intangible action). But at the end of the day, Target is cheap. We get X amount of trucks with a certain amount of freight, we get Y amount of guests in our buildings with that many amounts of items. Those are the basics of our business to keep running. We HAVE to do those two things to keep the building running (for simplicity ignoring other portions). Target hasn't done anything to address these two tasks to make them take less payroll... and these org chart changes, while major, do not do a single thing to help those either. For once, could the company accurately assess its stores and roll out something that will actually directly improve its issues?

How Target runs it's business.

And why exactly should they spend their time away from work learning about things for work? Target wants us to know everything, well then they better give us some damn training for it instead of expecting us to do it off the clock.
by that logic why are we on this forum getting and exchanging information about work while at home?

You don't want THIS barista in a bikini.
Trust me.

Just a question. Are the barista's expected to pull/push their deliveries now? With the amount of payroll they give you, I see no way this can be done while also keeping the Starbucks open. At my store, we only have one Starbucks TM working an 8 hour shift from X pm to closing (don't want to give away my location, corp hates me enough for starting this thread tbh). One of my ETL's used to work for a Safebux, so she covers the TM's lunch to avoid compliance. I have no idea how this roll-out will fare in my store, but it's Not My Problem.

Who was doing your orders if the Starbucks team wasn’t doing it? It’s like the only workcenter in most stores that has always been end to end.

Clopening tomorrow so I should be going to bed, but when I printed my front end grid for tomorrow, I noticed I have loads of cashiers and exactly two who will need a meal. The sales floor is so thin, I feel like apologizing when I have to call for backup. (In fact, if we hit a lull I give cashiers walkies and SEND them to the floor to help zone.)

The mood in my store is very ... tense. Is that the right word? There's some sadness, some frustration, a lot of fear (because this is a huge unknown, and fear of the unknown is a not-uncommon thing). It's hard to stay bouncy and upbeat and guest-friendly when you're all worried about what's about to come down.

TL and the assistant whatever the hell the title is does that stuff in my store.

But I'm glad to hear this single tm no break coverage thing is common. I'm over it. I half assed my close tonight because I had a 5.5 and would've gone into compliance if I got everything done to my normal standards.

I won't lie I don't know how I decipher this

More title tidbits from my store. Most TL in my store had received their new titles and roles today. One such change for example, I work in a Super Target. Before the change, the food side had the following TL:

Market TL #1 - Dry Grocery
Market TL #2 - Paper/Chem/pet
Product TL
Deli TL
Bakery TL
Meat TL
Dairy/Frozen TL
Starbucks TL

After the change its just:
Food and Beverage Lead #1-6 (All the individual TL before are now responsible for each others departments. Everyone gets a LOD like rotation)
Food Service Lead - Separate from everyone :(

Yes, and most are baler trained too. We have 3 sets of equipment keys in addition to them being part of electronics, backroom, GSTL, and beauty keys.

That sounds wonderful. I've had about 2-3 big TV sales not happen because no one could get it from the back.
