I also believe you are right, and I am going to laugh. My VM keeps pawning off any ISM that she was supposed to do on others.

Same here. My VM will not use the wave (like, refuses to learn), and all around hates signing. So, this should be interesting in our store come January. 🙄

yeah im positive that's what's happening and i'm pretty pissed about it lol. my new vm is actually really sweet but she is constantly slammed with other stuff she's dong and doesn't know how to use the wave so i am still doing the ism she is supposed to be putting up. idk how they think this is going to work in the long run if this is their plan but w/e, not my problem anymore.

We need a separate hardlines and softline VM at our store, maybe it could work. Don't shoot me.

I've thought that since they created the VM position. I had hoped they would make the signing TM the hardlines VM because that's essentially what we had been doing anyway (I had even taken on responsibilities as a brand TM too). But no, that would have been to logical. 🙄

Signing maybe, TL no. They took away the title for a reason. VMs have no team and can’t coach. If they did it wouldn’t be worth it anyway.... doing all the VMGs and all the signing when signing is already a 40 hour job? No thanks. Also they invested money in changing the labels to follow modernization so I can’t imagine they would do all that just to give it back to one person. I can see they eventually realizing their mistake and just bringing back the signing TM but I highly doubt they would make the VM do all of the signing.

My old store had 2 VMs it was great!

VMs aren't supposed to be doing the VMGs anymore, Style TMs are with the VM tweaking it where it's needed and training those TMs on visual standards. Maybe small formats are different though.

No I know they’re not physically doing them but they’re supposed to “teach, follow up and train” so help set them set. The same thing when they tell GMTLs to observe follow up and train, they mean do some rounds and help TMs push or whatever they’re working on. There’s not really a way to “observe” without helping unless you just creepily watch them.

i really hope you're right but it seems like with every new addendum they're giving the vm more and more of what the signing person used to do.

So it's not appropriate to walk by someone and tell them "you're doing it wrong" and then walk away? Because I like to do that to people all the time! 🤣🤣🤣 Ok, not really but it has come out of my mouth.

I feel like our VM is pretty removed from setting/helping but he does make himself available for questions. He gets a lot of questions. He's more popular on the walkie than me now!

Hahaha definitely guilty of it sometimes... “hey that’s not right but I don’t have time to help you do it right, I’ll be back later”. Small formats definitely different though... my VM gets bored and helps the style team just push repacks or folds all day.
 
So I started building the black Friday bins and i've never been so tempted to throw out the stupid toppers... unfold this support box when we make it impossible to unfold it without ripping it

The STORE earns the hours. What the SD does with those hours is another situation. Prob just puts it in gm to staff for push.

I don’t think they’ll make it a tl position tho. Cause they have to have a team to teach and coach. They still won’t.

Man I feel you on that. I manage to do it perfectly w/o ripping on one of them (of course it was the last one i had to build 😐)

How many BF dump bins you guys get? I only have 4 which is a lot less than normal.

If in they’re anything like the BTC ones... I ended up giving up after like the 10th bin For BTC and built the next 10 without toppers

Ship was slow so I was able to break everything down on Thursday. Left the three Black Friday pallet sign holders on a flat, and the two smaller boxes on top. There's no way people can miss them. It's all that's on the flat.

So obviously someone's going to miss them.

What all is on the four-day ad? They have me coming in tomorrow for it. Except all that my PML and I can find are the three DVD shippers that Target seems to think will sell even though NO they will not.
