It's unnerving to evacuate the store. Hopefully there was a process in place to keep everyone safe . Coolers etc. And don't worry it's just freight.

LOD handled it pretty well. We managed to get everyone out pretty quickly, too.

Good luck in qmosing all the temperature sensitive stuff in those shopping carts left behind.

We had a "Gas" leak happen at our store. Had to evacuate the whole store.

What ended up happening is that the Cleaning Crew had brought in a Gasoline soaked rug from outside in and the area near the compactor / bailer / receiving was smelling strong.

4 people went to the hospital feeling sick that day.

This is nothing, we had a complete blackout once. Lost EVERYTHING. We had to Log in, input some weird ass code to make ourselves a "Phantom Store" and QMOS that way. I think (was never told, but suspected) it was for insurance reasons. So we could keep track of what we lost due to said catastrophy.

(Was an EPIC pain in the ass to QMOS).

That said, was around $110,000 dollars worth of food.

However, Steritech came just two days after it. :p

Nothing here but cleaned shelves because there was nothing else to do.

They do it this way to protect the financials. If you qmos all of it normally then it will automatically hit your P&L, and become a major issue because it would appear that you lost 110k in profits. Doing it as a phantom store is to make the process easier for the insurance company to process, it's essentially a write-off.

Yup, that is exactly what I figured.
