We are supposed to have an entire pallet of these things as one of our 2 Day toy pallets on the floor pad in softlines. That is so not going to happen.

We just got our truck. It has 2 Elsa dolls. That should go over real well at the Target event on Saturday. Thanks Target.

Yeah, doubt it. Although dabeastfromtheeast indicated de-pal'ed 50 some pallets. We do not have a truck tomorrow, so what we have (2) is all we are getting, at least for the Frozen event.

Meanwhile on eBay:

Actually, it is not that simple. Most guest are picking them up for about $65.00 after tax.

If you look at ebay, the average Elsa doll is selling for $140 (includes shipping) and Anna $115 (includes shipping). Therefore, the listings mentioned above are not selling right now. Maybe they will in the future, but right now, no single doll is going for greater than $200.

That said, factor in these costs on a doll you sell for $150:
Doll Cost $65.00
Shipping ($30.00 - the boxes are huge)
Ebay Fee ($15.00 - approx 10% of the sale price)
Paypal Fee ($7.50 - approx 5% of the sale price)

That would be about a $33 profit. Less your time and gas for shipping as well as packing materials.

Just not worth it at this point. If they start going to $250-$400/doll, then you are talking about a serious profit center for folks trying to flip dolls. If someone were able to get their hands on a couple of casepacks before any other guests arrived, they could turn a couple of thousand dollars easy (even more on craigslist because there aren't fees).

Oh my! Around end of October we had a few of these and they actually stayed on the shelves. I should have grabbed one! Now we have an actual line outside the store on truck days waiting for them to come and grab one. We only get 2 in per truck and they are gone a minute after store opening.

I'll see your on the dot at 8am and raise you my morning: I walked in the TSC this morning at 7:15am. The phone was ringing, and there was no one else around. I wasn't on the clock, but I figured it was probably a TM calling in, I would grab it. Nope, it was a guest looking for those stupid dolls. Seriously. Since it wasn't a truck day, I could tell her we didn't have any without even looking. If it had been a truck day, she would have been mighty unhappy with me when I would have told her she needed to call back later to find out, because we weren't in a position to assist guests yet.

Legit this was last night..

(Out of Elsa/Anna doll)
10:00pm - Truck arrives.
10:02-10:15pm - 3 Guests call asking if we have Elsa Anna Doll
10:02-10:20pm - We are out on the Sales Floor, yet have 2 of said Dolls somewhere on the truck
10:15-10:25pm - 2 Guests arrive and wait at Guest Services until said Dolls are found
10:30pm-???? - Sold out of Lifesize Elsa/Anna Dolls.

That's not creepy at all...

I really don't understand it, actually.
The fuck is a kid gonna do with a 3 foot doll, play with it for like 5 minutes and never touch it again?

Noooo... I played with my my size Barbie for years, then gave her away and regretted it haha. I wouldn't have wanted Anna or Elsa, though because they don't look like me (I had a black my size was Barbie). I wonder if my Nana (aka Santa Claus) had this tough a time finding it. I got all the popular toys as a kid and never thought about the possible difficulty in actually getting them.

I"m ever so happy my kids...

1. have always all found the my size dolls creepy
2. are 10 and over
3. are "accepting" of the theme park tickets they got this year in lieu of other stuff

And i'm ever so happy to be sitting at home working at the computer looking for starfish clip art instead of cashiering during this event.

I hope the supply loosens - I know plenty of mom's that would be the crying ones. Thankfully that isn't how we roll here, and never have.... another thankful blessing.

Now, if anyone knows where my 10yo put her stuffed Curious George she has had since she was 3 three that would be great, because it has been a long week with him missing! :p

I just asked my mom. She did the shopping my nana funded. She just waltzed into toys r us and bought my my size Barbie, buuuut, I'm assuming it would've been harder to waltz in and buy the white my size Barbies in some areas.

One of the most terrifying toys I've ever seen,
I'll attest to that. I had to fetch one from the backroom for a guest because none were on the shelves and all I thought was, this is creepy.

I used to stand my my size Barbie up in random places so a couple of times when my uncle came home from his late night job (my aunt and uncle occasionally babysat me overnight) it scared the crap out of him. Ahh, memories.

Merchandise planning and ads are planned out a year in advance. And all the crappy eBay sellers bought too much supply. So the demand is higher than what hq expected. And now the guests have to pay triple the amount online from a 3rd party seller.

A first for me the eight years I've been with spot: A couple of guests got into a shouting match with each other over our last Elsa (of the 4 we've recieved off the truck, for the first time in two weeks.) The guests were VERY vulgar and very loud with each other. It was so bad that I was able to hear them 3 isles away, while standing next to the too-loud Disney infinity display in electronics.

They were escorted out by AP before it got physical and were asked to not return.

I understand this toy is the "must have" thing this year. Shit though, it's not worth that kind of stress. A little disappointment never hurt any kid.
