Not sure I like this. Usually a guest will say "I was supposed to get a gift card for those" right after scanning the promotional items. But now it wont prompt for a gift card till you press Total.

I do like the idea of only using one gift card if the guest gets multiple promotional items.

Our store has been doing this since January its a bit of a pain most of us arent a fan. Guests seem to like it though one giftcard vs 4 and all

Yeah ours have been doing it for about a month it does say under the item that it qualifies as a promotion so you can see if the item will activate it before hitting total. It’s mostly handy at self-checkout so you don’t have to keep going over to the register if the promotional items are spaced apart in the transaction. Didn’t get the memo that we were part of a test though.

It’d be nice if GC’s integrated with wallet so you could select a button like “add to my wallet for next time”. One day, spot. One day.
