MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Hi! I'm training to be the new signing specialist in my store!! My old SS is training me and our STL wanted us to go over best practices and I saw that the example pictures on Workbench are beautifully organized whereas our signing areas are.... A hot mess. Is it normal to have everything everywhere? Do you have an organized system? I've gone through the signing threads and haven't been able to find anything but there is a lot, maybe I missed it?

Did anyone else get something for the 11x7 grocery focal next week?
Haven't opened that pallet, but its got a focal graphic sized box on it. Along with lots of baby food plastic dividers.
I didn't hold them because July 21st is not June Launch.

I have no idea where the are now, as I gave them to someone else.

Also my note inside never mentioned a date.

The letter inside pretty much said, "Keep me in your basement, until I come calling".
I think the sticker on the box said it. I board things like that, they get lost otherwise and signs are always my fault... cause signs - signing specialist.

Yeah the 11x7 grocery focal is weird though because I scan all the signs and they're NOP for my store. They all have "dallas" in the name too.

hang where

So Dairy/Infants resets July 23, Pets is August 13, Sporting Goods is September 10 or 17 iirc, and Toys is July 30. What other big resets are coming up between now and Halloween?

Sounds like ad signing so not anything you would need to worry about.

I labeled all the boxes and told the TL in charge of grocery where to find them. They are her problem now. I know that end caps in market are changing to include 2 7x11 holders each so I am thinking that is what they are for.

Normal? Depends on who is in charge. Likely, yes. I organize everything I can because it makes it easier for others to find without me there (in theory. Some people can't see what is right in front them until you point it out). I label everything with a description and set date if it has one. Same for fixture room: everything labeled with a part number if possible and in its own bin. There is always perpetual clean up after others to keep it organized though. Literally a neverending battle. As long as you can manage to keep up with the constant upkeep of signs and fixtures you will do fine.

Get some of the bright larger post it notes. Use the same color for everything due that week. I told my signing team member that the signing should be organized so anyone could find it. If for whatever reason you couldn't be at work the signs still need to be put up on time so the easier it is to find the easier it will be on you technically.
I also refuse to have her cleanup after other team members with fixtures left in the fixture room. That room is everyones responsibility. I will hunt team members down and have them break down peg hooks put shelves up and put signing away. Then I send an email to their TL. their ETL, my ETL and the STL. No one can ever say that they didnt know. I have been known to take carts to huddle and distribute the offending team members things to them so they can take care of them. By far the worst team is the softness team members. They say they don't have time. Cry me a damn river, no one does HELLO MY TIME.

Hey what's the part number for the 3 inch and 6 inch pegs? It's nowhere to be found on the pogs.

You may have to mySupport to get the 3 inch ones. Last time I needed some I could not find them on SAP even with a number, but was able to get a shipment from mySupport. They restrict items sometimes.

Nope, that's going to softlines this time. Have fun with that E2E! Also Toys is going to be a disaster, just watching it unfold is pretty fun. The TL over the area has literally done every single possible thing wrong so far, even after getting advice from the former Plano TL.

I build them and PMT built them.

It was D030, that's infants basics.

Now if it was the few aisles that are infant clothes and infant shoes and infant underwear, well, softlines is gonna have to do that.

I think the PMT built a lot of the displays this time around, but I'm sure as hell not putting them up or signing them. That's part of the set, they gonna learn.

Spent an hour today configuring the new Zebra printers we got in. Why is my STL so incompetent. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person that knows how to work a computer in the building

So for the Cards Against Humanity/Exploding Kittens endcap, who is the vendor thats supposed to build it?

What company

Does it look like this
