Popcorn & movie night
Turn swim noodles into light sabers (using duct tape) and have an epic showdown
"Decorate" an ETLs office using silly string, streamers, etc
 
If your in the path of the hurricane the store will be boarded up with hurricane shutters and the store will be closed until its safe to reopen and no team members will be there until its safe either I've been through that about 5 times and it sucks the worst part is getting all the guests to leave so you can finish putting up the shutters.

I am going to talk to my STL about this. My question is, should I fight for the dollar at this point? Is that what you're raise was. I'm sure I've seen a lot of people mention a $1 raise in their signing position. I know the older signing fellow received a $2 raise but I think that's pushing it.

When you say you checked "pay & benefits" are you referring to targetpayandbenefits.com? Since that site is run by a 3rd party benefits coordinator, the info isn't instantly up to date. From what I've seen, it updates your pay info about once a month.

The only way to be 100% sure of your pay is to check your next pay stub.

Signing is one of the highest paygrades for a TM, but it is a paygrade and not a flat raise. So if you were already at a paygrade above base, you won't get a full $1. The past few signing TMs at my store moved from a logistics position and they got 50 cents.

We're very inland, about 60 miles from the coast. Waves aren't an issue. Just the shitton of rain. We didn't board up during Sandy iirc. Only times we've ever closed early was during Snowmageddon 2013, and we closed two days in a row during the 2016 blizzard. Never for hurricanes.

I'm going to start bringing my 3DS, 3DS charger, phone charger, and iPod charger to work. I'm not about to risk getting stuck at work and be bored.
 
Has anyone gotten the front end overheads for A New Day? I've got a couple of black and white "New and only at Target" overheads that I am entirely unsure what they are for or where they go. I'm wondering if they are the AND overheads.

Are you taking for the runway? The only fos is that new at target one... the new day specific one is the runway overhead.
 
A New Day get their own seperate overheads, pink cloth banners. Someone posted pics of them earlier in this thread. Ours arrived late and shipped via UPS.

Speaking of late stuff did we got t a Star Wars stanchion sign to put up to promote the midnight event.... after the event was already over.

Glad to see corporate is on always on top of everything.
 
I got two MORE boxes of new brand overheads.

I think Target's going a little overboard with them.

We have the FOS Halloween overheads (one for each entrance), the two black and white "New and Only at Target" overheads, the giant iPhone graphic in electronics, the department overheads, the overheads in miniseasonal and seasonal, and NOW more "New and Only at Target". Presumably also we can throw in "this way to the Halloween Booporium!"

It's gonna ruin the effectiveness. People are just gonna see all this hanging things and ignore them. It's a little ridiculous.

Gotcha. The amount of things the DC has delayed or forgotten to send just... really touches a nerve.

Oh someone needs to remind corporate about snap rivets. Plastic! Cheap! Easy to use! Strong! Stop using garbage metal posts that take forever to assemble. That rear seasonal overhead took way too long to put together.
 
Is anyone else having trouble getting flip label holders? My Support says they are on back order, but Ive been trying to buy them since December. Etl staff thinks Im just doing something wrong....

I wonder if they are discontinuing them because they aren't used as much with how they changed price cut labels. But usually mySupport would tell you that. I have had trouble in the past ordering them and being on backorder but eventually they arrived. It didn't take over 8 months though!

Reach out to nearby stores, maybe they have an abundance they would be willing to share.

flippers are integral to flexing in market for a clean looking presentation. Although we don't seem to bother anymore.

Totally agree! They do make flexing more presentable everywhere rather than a hodge podge of shit shoved on a shelf. I feel like I am one of two people at my store that bothers though!

Nobody bothers at my store anymore, but I keep them on hand because they will get back to it some day.
 
Anyone else get like 3-4 copies of the same lamp displays? They only scan as being in one pog and I've got like a pallet worth of extras.
