MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Hey, you made the same mistake I did haha the top wooden beams go on the inside of the metal plate. It should fix the bottom bowing. I wont have time to fix until monday
I was so busy matching holes to poles... Then it was bowed. Fuck me. I'm not sure I've got the means to figure a fix it... what was your plan? I'll give it a go in the morning and we can both figure out of it will work.
None here, and I don't really care, as none of this shit was communicated to me. At a time I really could have used that.

Also has anyone seen their Valentines Table build show up at all? I hope it never comes.
Came outside the pallet. Don't think we'll use it cause giant gaudy table and hotel lobby... we made a small version already from a training room table.

We did get magnetic dividers for a test in water bottles in sporting goods... not sure where its going since its just a tough strip with the usual crap double stick tape holding it on...

Did you guys receive your s hooks? They were not in any of my universal boxes.

S hooks were only sent for non-mannequin stores so if you have mannequins, you are not missing them.

Mine came in on the same pallet as the Universal Thread easel boxes. Planning on setting it up Monday.

Sooooo. Was able to just pull the bolts and finesse the poles into the correct place. Maybe ten minutes per side. Still wobbly as fuck, but straighter looking.

Missing signs for the set though. Hoping they come fedex.

My signs came in with the regular signing pallets. Think there were 2 or 3 boxes, had labels on it for Universal Thread.

For the BB and BG denim walls: does anyone currently have backer still up? Mine has the backer from like 2012 up even though it is not on POG anymore. My VM would like to keep something up to make it look more like a shop, but I am unable to order extra panels for what is there. Only solution I can come up with is to order the C9 backers that are in mens and womens, but those are so dark I'd like to find another solution.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions??

Are you talking about the CSE? I just put some of those polkadot ones up. Our old signing Specialist had just turned the c9 around so it was plain white but it didn't look brand to me so I swapped them with the polkadot fillers

Nope, not the CSE. It was like backer paper but hung up using the left/right metal brackets and was placed behind the product on the denim walls.

You have given me an idea though...turning the dark gray C9 backer around and using it for the kids denim. Will have to play around with that once my order comes in.

There was a dark grey C9 backer when the wall had that before denim. Is that the color you mean? Mine hung off a spanner bar thing, not left/ right brackets. Pretty sure we pitched it with the change.

Yes, forgive me. The old backer I have up for denim does use the spanner bar, not the brackets. My current mens/womens C9 backer uses the brackets.

I am pretty sure my walls have been denim for at least 8 years and the backer is white with some light grey print on it. If I could order that I would but the numbers for it have become obsolete.

Hmmm, I wonder if I've got the c9 paperwork in my desk still... I'll check when I go in tomorrow.

anyone else noticing a MAJOR, lack of communication with transitions guides?
Since about December all i have seen are guides explaining "Why" the transition is being done. No where else do I see transition guides of the past which actually gets you to Target's answer for "Why"

That's what the boys/girls denim walls look like at my store. White paper with some grey printed design. I'm pretty sure it's been that way for the 4 years I've been working there.

Yes, or just early set notes. It's just as lazy as no merch update on workbench.

I checked my walls, we removed the backer. Didnt have time to check files as its my day to babysit pog.

Even the Early Set Notes have been atrocious lately. Mostly just late arriving product. Half the time it doesn't even address any of the major issues we come across during a set.

I miss the old transition guides too. I don't really give two shits about why Target is doing something, just tell me how it is going to affect setting and signing. Ours is not to question WHY, only to DO. Lol

Hahahaha.....babysit pog. Love it.

I call them my kids, really pisses off the old guy we hired. But usually they are at least decade younger.

Our team is a good mix of ages (all female) and I am right in the middle. Lately I've been backing off from keeping them on track on days when my TL isn't there...unless it's something that will require a lot of rework if it isn't done right the first time. Best part of this is I now leave on time almost every single day!

Case in point today on crappy Early Set Notes: had a Unilever vendor come in today with special trays for Dove in Skincare, Tresseme, and Love, Beauty, & Planet. Both the Dove and Love trays were in POGs in a reverse aisle. And guess what? The product has to move around to fit in the tray properly. Don't remember any mention of 1) trays being brought in by a vendor or 2) or adjustments that would need to be made in reverse aisles.

Hey this is a label holder for the hats fixture over in Sporting Goods, does anybody know if they sell these separate. As far as I searched on Sap I could only find the entire hat fixture as one piece label holders included.

HEY, ask your SBTL of all people! We had the same problem and we got something very similar from starbucks.

Just a head's up for next week in cosmetics: the e.l.f. POG was a nightmare! No notches listed for any of the lit hook & hang fixtures. And a few of the bullnose signs are wrong and don't match up with the product.
Fuuuuuuck. I've got two signing shifts and the rest freaking pog. Guess who will have to do all the signing by the end of the week?
