MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

They dared ask me to break down the pallet when I was on flex today.

Yeeted it all in the steel. Good luck anyone going through it

Curious, what's your tips/tricks to doing door and floor clings without bubbling?? Seems hard to do it perfectly without it bubbling on the corners or sides.

Softlines thinks I am taking down the swim OH for them to prep for the LTO launch. They need to think again. Not only was I not scheduled for any non-pog ISM this week, I am also not a style consultant. Not my area, not my problem.

I start by unpeeling a small section of it and adhering it to the surface. Slowly unpeel, smoothing as I go. Small section each time so if there is a bubble, you can pull up it up and catch it.

I'm super curious what their plan is to put the LTO OH up. They haven't asked me to come in to do it for them and I am not offering. The VM and Style TL are both chickens about using the Wave.
Both stores I’ve worked at the VM refuses to use the wave :///. My last one I don’t think she’d fit in the wave to be fair but my current one has no excuse.

That's what I do for the floors, what about the door clings where you can't really see the other side since the store is closed. Do you use any special formulated spray?

There’s 2 kinds one requires the spray conditioner and comes with it the other doesn’t. I don’t use the spray unless it comes with it.

Nope. I've never sprayed anything on the doors, I always ignore the part in the instructions where it says to spray. I sometimes use a plastic putty knife/scraper to keep the bubbles at a minimum for the doors. Often this is sent in with the clings.

Even the non sticky clings? Mine fall off if I don’t use the spray because they’re just plastic.

Maybe it's more a matter of I've never received non-sticky ones for the doors. But I feel like I've seen it in the instructions before and ignored because what they gave me did stick without it. I had some come in for frozen once that didn't stick and threw them out because it seemed stupid to send non-sticky ones when sticky ones exist.

Idk maybe we get different ones at a small format. We get window clings and door clings because most small formats have giant windows around the store. The non sticky ones are typically transparent and the sticky ones are just double sided

About a year and a half ago my former signing specialist had me take over the Now Hiring signing, which obviously includes the doors. She recommended I spray the door down with plain water. it creates a tiny barrier that lets me move the signing around on the door if I need to. I also always use a scraping tool and make sure to go out into the vestibule and check my work. That way if there is an air bubble that little bit of water will let me work the bubble out or even peel back the signing if I absolutely must.

Nope. Softlines is on their own for this launch.
With NO TL and a VM that refuses to do anything but point we actually have the signing person scheduled for before store open tomorrow to do it, for the half hour it will need to stay up cause direction is to take it down when there are only 2 racks of stuff left. Which is only Slightly more than we started with.

Did ours after close tonight. I have pretty limited signing experience and it was a bit of a pain, but I'm sure you signing guys should have no problem. The VMs of the world on the other hand..

TAT is going to be a mess this year. I've read October addendum and the TAT transition guide, and it says in numerous places "set the week of the third" or "set on halloween night"

they cannot make up their mind.

How’d you get it early👀👀 or did you just search sharepoint? That’s typically how I read things early since it’s on there before workbench most of the time. Curious how other people stumble across?

Found on Sharepoint or Workbench or whatever tf it's called, for both those docs.

It also says the map should be up by now.

I want to see the map for TAT. PML was wondering when we'd get it because he wants to know if we'll need to "borrow" any more gondola parts like we did for Halloween. Crazy that so many stores were short on parts for this set.

If the bubble is in the middle I have cut a small slit in it and worked the air out through the slit. If the decal has a clear border around it, like the snowflakes, I will sometimes trim most of the border off. Bubbles are a LITTLE less noticeable on the colored part than the clear.
